Arthur Illies 1870-1952
A German Post-Impressionist painter and printmaker trained at the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, Arthur Illies went through a period in the 1890s that was close to Symbolism and German Jugendstil. He notably exhibited works at the Vienna Secession in 1899 and at the Berlin Secession in 1908.
His works are held in the collections of the major German museums.
