Henri Pringuet 1870-1946

This painter was a portraitist and landscape artist from Carcassonne, where he appears to have spent his life and served as a drawing instructor at the local lycée. Very little is known about his biography, but his surviving works reveal a strong command of light and chiaroscuro effects, often imbued with an intriguing touch of symbolism.
